Kia Proceed Concept: goodbye three doors, hello shooting brake

A few days ago we were advancing a teaser image published by Kia about a prototype that would present at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Although the event officially starts next week, the Asian firm has come forward and already shows us the full image of this conceptual model. As we announced, the prototype uses a sports body shooting brake.

Created in the European design center of Kia located in Frankfurt, this Kia Proceed Concept offers a body unprecedented until now in the South Korean brand, as it is a shooting brake. Although we can not venture to say that Kia will launch a model similar to this, as we say, at the moment is only a prototype, since the brand does convey certain intentions in their statements.

Gregory Guillaume, Chief Designer of Kia Europe, said that the reason for this prototype is that European customers are looking for sports alternatives to a three-door body. He added that ” e l Proceed Concept represents a bold new vision of how the vibrant spirit of the pro_cee’d reincarnate and revitalize for a new generation of drivers seeking dynamism “. The truth is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find three-door sports cars.

This Kia Proceed Concept reminds us, and much, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake, which derives from Class A and specifically the CLA. The characteristics of our protagonist are, of course, the design of his body shooting style shooting, careful aerodynamics , the great sportsmanship that transmits, the Tiger-Nose grille, very aggressive forms in the front bumper, stylized optical lights, short front overhang , absence of the central pillar and the rest of very narrow pillars , wheels of enormous dimensions with a very careful design and door handles that are hidden .

We can not deny that the Kia Proceed Concept has left us with much desire to know what decision Kia will take in its future, although if anything is clear is that bets on the design and the sports image. Do not take more than a look at the new Kia Picanto, Kia Stinger or Kia Stonic to check it out and see the huge improvement experienced in a few years.
